2024- Jeff & Riley Ewen- Riverhurst, SK

Jeff and Riley Ewen of E3 Ag Ventures are apart of the 4th generation on the family farm located at Riverhurst, SK, situated along the banks of Lake Diefenbaker. Jeff farms alongside his father, Gary and brothers, Brett and Kris. Established in 1912, the farm has grown from a single quarter to now encompassing nearly 13,000 acres. Approximately 30 percent of the acres have been developed with center pivot irrigation with water supplied from Lake Diefenbaker. A diversity of crops are grown on the farm including pulses, oilseeds, and cereal grains.

Jeff completed his degree in Agriculture at the UofS in 2012. Riley completed her degree in Nursing at the UofS in 2013. Both Jeff and Riley enjoyed off farm career’s, Jeff as an Irrigation Agrologist and Riley as a Registered Nurse. Jeff and Riley married in 2017 and decided to switch focus to the family farm. Since then, Jeff has been accredited as a Certified Seed Grower and formed Alloy Ag, a custom farming business with his brother Kris, specializing in row crop production of dry edible beans.

Jeff and Riley have two young daughters, Harper and Ava. The girls require most of Riley’s time, along with being a major support for Jeff in all his aspirations and endeavors. Jeff is a member of the local Volunteer Fire Department, Wildlife Federation Branch and Irrigation District. Jeff is also a board member of Irrigation Saskatchewan. The Ewen family has deeply rooted values in community involvement that enrich the rural life.
