2023 BC OYF Nominees Johannes and Julaine Treur own and operate Creekside Dairy and Creekside Cheese + Creamery in Agassiz, BC. The couple and their five children take pride in being thoughtful, considerate, and respectful stewards of their animals and land. They use the milk produced by their herd of Brown Swiss cows to craft authentic alpine style cheeses that pay homage to their European heritage. Visitors and customers are welcomed to their picturesque farm nestled against the mountains in the eastern end of the lush Fraser Valley, and guests are encouraged to tour the farm and interact with the cows and other farm animals, or take part in a guided tour to learn all about organic dairy farming and cheese production from the farmers themselves. The Treurs have grown their farming operation in many ways in the past years and they look forward to many more years in the industry, caring for their animals and raising a new generation of dairy farmers and cheesemakers.
