Derek and Jen Van Dieten have built their organic dairy and cash crop farm into a
successful business literally from the ground up. Derek grew up in a mixed farming
operation. During his teens, Derek worked for a local dairy farm and that is where his
passion for dairy farming exploded. Jen was from a suburb of Ottawa but had always
loved animals and decided to go to Guelph University. That is where the couple met.
They built their dairy operation together by constantly looking for opportunities to use
their resources wisely and to diversify into different markets quickly have been keys to
their steady growth.
