Rick and Kevin Howe are brothers who grew up surrounded by many diverse farming operations. The Howe Family has been farming in Elgin County since 1861.

Both brothers explored post secondary education in non-agricultural areas but eventually returned to their farming roots. G & M Howe & Sons was established in 1990 by Rick and Kevin’s parents as a wholesale operation focusing mainly on strawberries and vine crops. A farm market was built in 2009 and a second retail location was added a few years later. They now grow 16 distinct crops and have been intentionally and gradually increasing their on-farm market sales each year.

Both Kevin and Rick are passionate about the importance of eating local and supporting local. They also believe in maintaining traditional family values but incorporating modern farming techniques to grow the best flavoured produce for their customers.
